International Accounting Group
Part-time, 10 hours/week
Starting September 01, 2025, and ending after 6 months
 
Please note that pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, only students who have not yet completed a master or diploma degree program can be employed.
 
Would you like to gain first experience in a vibrant research and teaching environment? As a Teaching and Research Assistant (10h-20h/week) at the WU International Accounting Group you support the Group’s international research and teaching agenda. You can gain first experience in data collection, preparation, and analyses. Additionally, you work closely with the Group’s teaching staff to ensure a smooth teaching experience including preparation of course work and providing support for evaluation measures (examination). This position provides you an excellent steppingstone for future positions in academia and research.

What to expect

  • Participating in organizational and administrative duties
  • Assisting with courses (e.g., supporting students, supporting the creation of presentations and other teaching material)
  • Supporting the International Accounting Group in conducting its research activities, course preparation and conducting examinations
  • Assisting with research work (e.g., literature research, collecting and preparation of data)

What you have to offer

  • Ongoing studies focusing on accounting or related fields of business administration
  • Interested in becoming part of an academic unit's research and teaching activities
  • High level of proficiency in both German and English languages
  • Used to working with the Microsoft software package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Interest in working with data
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work under pressure
  • Willing to work independently
  • Personal attributes: exact, reliable, and positive
  • Experience in working in a similar position advantageous, but not required
  • Attending the SBWL International Accounting & Controlling or the Master Finance & Accounting advantageous, but not required
  • Participation in research courses advantageous, but not required
