Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations
Fulltime, 40 hours/week

What to expect

  • Conduct research: You will actively contribute to the institute’s research projects on (in)equality, diversity, and inclusion and further develop your own ideas.
  • Teach and support courses: You independently plan and teach courses.
  • Supervise master’s and bachelor’s theses: You independently supervise master’s and bachelor’s theses.
  • Support organization and administration: You will help fulfill the institute’s administrative responsibilities.
  • Work as part of a team: You will join a team of committed researchers who collaboratively advance research projects.

What you have to offer

  • Doctoral degree: You have successfully completed your doctoral degree or will have completed it by the start of the position and demonstrate a strong commitment to research through promising publication projects. Peer-reviewed presentations at academic conferences and initial publications in journals listed on the WU Star Journal List or the Department of Management Journal List are an advantage.
  • Passion for research: You are highly motivated to pursue an academic career and aim to publish your work in reputable scholarly journals.
  • Relevant expertise and experience: You bring knowledge in areas such as diversity management, inequalities and vulnerability in organizations, and inclusion at work. Ideally, you also have some knowledge in international management, as well as a good overview of multi-level and multi-actor perspectives.
  • Research methodology: You have in-depth training in qualitative research methods, particularly ethnographic, discourse, and interview analysis. You are experienced in using related software such as MAXQDA, NVivo, or ATLAS.ti. You also have a clear understanding of the strengths and limitations of different methodological approaches.
  • Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats. You are also able—and willing over time—to teach courses in both English and German.
  • International experience and language skills: You can demonstrate international exposure in your studies. Strong English and German skills are an asset.
  • Digital skills: You are confident using standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools) and can quickly learn new systems.
  • Engagement: You work independently, take initiative, and act as a team player.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €5,014.30 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on equivalent prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
