Full Professor of Management, part-time (pursuant to § 99 UG 2002)
WU is currently inviting applications for the position of a full professor[1] of Management at the Department of Management (part-time 20%, duration of employment is 3 years). Candidates are expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in their field.
Its rare triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA is a guarantee for the highest quality research and teaching in the fields of business, economics, and business law. WU’s research is characterized by a wide diversity of disciplines practiced at WU, allowing researchers to deal with even the most complex of research questions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in the relevant field and to have excellent qualifications. Candidates’ qualifications will be assessed in the context of their academic age on the basis of the following characteristics:
a) A solid academic qualification (e.g. PhD, habilitation or equivalent qualification) in management, with an emphasis on organization theory, organizational behavior, organizational change, leadership & strategy in the for-profit, non-profit or public sector, or in a related area
b) An outstanding international reputation for high-quality scholarship in the area of Management, in particular in the areas mentioned above, commensurate with academic age, especially by having demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier journals in the field
a. having demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier journals of the field (especially advantageous also in journals from the WU star-list and the department’s A+ and A lists) and by
b. regular participation in recognized conferences and workshops in the field of Management;
c. experience in editorial activities (especially advantageous in journals from the WU star-list and the department’s A+ and A lists) and/or university leadership;
c) Excellent teaching qualifications at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as in executive education
d) Proven international experience
e) A record in successfully attracting research funding
f) Active participation in the international scientific community and a proven track record of serving the scientific community (e.g., invited talks and guest lectures, visiting positions, support of young scholars);
g) g) Well documented activities in the areas of self-governance and third mission; Leadership qualities
h) Gender and diversity management skills
Expectations
The successful candidate is expected to perform teaching activities at all levels (bachelor’s, master’s, PhD/doctorate, and executive education), both in the classroom and in distance-learning formats. Full professors (part time, 20%) are expected to teach two weekly credit hours.
We also expect the new professor to take an active role in third mission activities. Joint research activities with WU faculty would be appreciated.
