Full Professor of Marketing, part-time (pursuant to § 99 UG 2002)

WU is currently inviting applications for the position of a full professor of Marketing[1] (part-time 20%, duration of employment is 3 years) at the Department of Marketing. Candidates are expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in the field of Marketing with a particular focus on methodological and technological advances, such as Consumer Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence within the field of technology.

The new professor will strengthen the existing profile of the Department of Marketing and will contribute to research, teaching, and service activities.

Qualifications

The successful candidate is expected to have established an international reputation as a researcher in the relevant field and to have excellent qualifications. Candidates’ qualifications will be assessed in the context of their academic age on the basis of the following characteristics:

a)    A solid academic qualification (e.g. PhD, habilitation) in Marketing or a related area which further contributes to the department’s diverse methodological portfolio (e.g., in the area of neuroscience, psychology, or computational science) 

b)    An outstanding international reputation for high-quality scholarship in the area of Marketing commensurate with academic age, especially by having demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier Marketing and general science journals.

c)    Excellent teaching qualifications at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as in executive education 

d)    Proven international experience 

e)    A strong record in attracting research funding 

f)     Leadership qualities 

g)    Gender and diversity management skills

Expectations

The successful candidate is expected to perform teaching activities at all levels (bachelor’s, master’s, PhD/doctorate, and executive education), with a special emphasis on our Master and PHD/doctorate programs, both in the classroom and in distance-learning formats. The holder of this position is expected to teach 2 weekly credit hours.

We also expect the new professor to participate actively in the Department’s research agenda, and to take an active role in the university’s self-governance and third mission activities.
