What to expect
- Active work on a PhD dissertation in economics within an FWF-funded research project (see: https://sites.google.com/view/option-south-tyrol/start)
- Close collaboration with the project PIs at WU Vienna and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, and integration into an international research network, including collaborators at Harvard University and Sciences Po
- Co-authorship on academic publications with members of the research team
- Development of independent research ideas leading to publishable papers
- Collection, digitization, and analysis of unique historical microdata
- Advanced econometric analysis and quantitative empirical work
- Participation in research seminars, workshops, and academic events at the department
- Presentation of research results at international conferences
What you have to offer
- Completed Master’s degree in Economics or a related field
- Motivation to pursue a PhD in economics
- Strong quantitative and econometric skills
- Experience with statistical software (e.g. Stata, R)
- Excellent command of English; German or Italian an asset

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,832.08 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
