Research Institute for Cooperation and Cooperatives
Part-time, 30 hours/week
Starting January 15, 2025, and ending after 3 years

Do you want to understand what it takes to make democratic governance of businesses work, and what the typical reasons are when it fails?
Do you find coding interesting, and would like to develop your expertise in quantitative or set-theoretic methods?

What to expect

  • Reviewing the literature on the topic, and developing a research proposal
  • Planning and implementing a quantitative or set theoretical research project
  • Collecting and integrating primary and/or secondary data
  • Analysing data with R
  • Writing scientific papers and presenting your research at conferences
  • Co-supervising bachelor theses about the governance and management of cooperatives
  • Optional: university teaching at bachelor level on management and/or civil society topics

What you have to offer

  • A completed university Master's degree in a relevant field in the social sciences, economics or business (e.g. business management, socio-economics, political science) with a high grade point average.
  • A basic understanding of quantitative or set theoretical research methods and a desire to learn more
  • Basic coding skills and a desire to learn more, particularly in R
  • A keen interest in organisational democracy and cooperatives
  • Excellent English
  • Desire to collaborate closely in a supportive and performance-oriented team

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,684.10 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
