Please note that pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, only students who have not yet completed a master or diploma degree program can be employed.
What to expect
- Teaching support: You will provide assistance in the development and administration of theoretical or methodological courses in the WU’s bachelor programmes, including the monitoring of course work and the communication with and tutoring of students.
- Research support: You will be supporting the two institutes’ research activities, e.g., the preparation of academic publications, research reports, and funding applications, and have the opportunity to develop ideas for your Master’s thesis project in this context.
- Administrative support: You will be helping with organizational and public-relations tasks at the two institutes.
What you have to offer
- Currently enrolled at WU Vienna, preferably in the Socioeconomics / WUPOL program: You hold a bachelor’s degree in economics or the social sciences and are at the beginning of your master’s studies at WU or an advanced bachelor student planning to take up your master’s studies at WU.
- High academic performance: You have an excellent study record (please document) and show a high aptitude for academic work in curricular as well as extracurricular activities and achievements (please elaborate on this or give examples).
- Distinctive research interest: You already have a distinctive research interest in the research areas covered by the two institutes, which shows in your studies or coursework (please document).
- Language skills: Excellent command of German and English (written and spoken). You have excellent skills in using English in the academic context, which should be documented (e.g., language certificates, participation in English-taught study programmes, writing samples). In addition, very advanced German-language skills are a plus to support teaching in the German-taught bachelor programmes.
- High versatility: You ideally already have particular skills or work experience in different fields relevant to the teaching and research activities of the two institutes, especially regarding theoretical foundations and research methods.
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
- Interest in academic work and university operations

The monthly gross salary amounts to €674.80.
