What to expect
- Writing a dissertation: You will be investigating your research topic and spending a third of your working hours on writing your dissertation.
- Contribution: You will be contributing to one of the Research Areas of the Institute for Ecological Economics.
- Teaching: Teach courses of the Department Socioeconomics.
- Co-Supervise: You will be co-supervising Bachelor theses.
- Writing proposals: Help with writing of grant proposals.
- Participation: Contribute to the general activities of the Institute and the Department.
What you have to offer
- Academic degree: You have an MSc/MA in Ecological Economics, Socioeconomics, Economics or related fields that qualifies you for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU.
- Research interest: A strong research interest and evidence of publication potential.
- Expertise in ecological economics: A good knowledge of ecological economics.
- Quantitative research: Demonstrated expertise and interest in conducting quantitative research (statistical analysis or stock-flow consistent input-output modelling or postgrowth modelling).
- Originality: A demonstrable capacity for original thought.
- Interdisciplinarity: Ability to engage with and integrate different disciplinary perspectives.
- Teaching experience: You have teaching experience especially in (ecological) economics and/or sustainability, is a plus.
- Research experience: Research experience in national or international projects is a plus.
- Language skills: Excellent written and communication skills in English (knowledge of German welcome but not required).
- Working style: The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team effort; and to respect tight deadlines.
- Soft skills: You have good interpersonal and time management skills.
- Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,786.10 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
